1950s-1960s Dragon scale Fordite inlay. Dragon scale is another term for rough or raw cut Fordite. The ring pictured for this listing even has a piece of metal embedded in it.
Fordite, also known as Detroit/Motor City Agate, is old automotive hardened paint which is then cut and polished. It is formed by buildup of paint layers on a factory floor which are then reused in jewelry. This is a recycled material that is quickly running out, I will provide it as long as it is reasonably priced and available!
All of my rings are comfort fit.
The resin used is waterproof, and is similar to a hardhat in hardness. My rings are tough, but avoid handling solvents while wearing. If the resin layer gets scratched over time, ship it back and I will polish it up, I will always polish any resin scratches for free. Resin replacement is always free. Resin can be polished at home with mineral oil or beeswax.
These rings are made to order. Your ring will look similar to, but not exactly like the ring pictured.
Please get professionally sized at a jeweler before purchasing. These rings are NOT re-sizable!
